Sheboygan River Clean-up
The Sheboygan River Basin Partnership is joining forces with Camp Y-Koda and the UW-Extension to host the 3rd Annual Sheboygan River Clean-up. Last year we collected over 980 pounds of garbage and hope to continue our efforts with a great turn out this year. Volunteers are needed to gather litter by canoeing a stretch of river, or walking in one of the city parks along the river. We are adding three new locations for clean-up this year: Sheboygan Marsh, Kiel Marsh and Willow Creek, as well as the Sheboygan River from County J to Kiwanis Park. Canoes will be provided by Camp Y-Koda or participants may use their own canoes or kayaks. Volunteers are also needed as Landing Site Hosts to help distribute garbage bags, information and assist with litter pick-up. Mail registration form to Camp Y-Koda or drop off at either of the YMCA's by May 1, 2008. Event will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, rain or shine. Please be prepared for all kinds of weather. Free lunch will be provided. Registration is needed so sites can be assigned and t-shirts ordered for the day of the event. A free lunch will be provided following the clean-up at Camp Y-Koda along with a variety of educational activities. Call Camp Y-Koda at (920) 467-6882 with questions or to register.
